Ok, I mentioned practicing gratitude in my last post and I’m sure there are some of you out there thinking, what is that, how do I do it or what good is it really?
Practicing gratitude allows you to look at life from a different perspective. It changes the lens you see the world through, and in turn, changes how you think about the world you see. It’s as simple as looking for the good things and taking extra second to appreciate them; it’s as easy as looking out your window and taking in the sunshine.
An attitude of gratitude takes nothing more than training your brain to focus on the positive. If you’re a word person, write down everything you’re thankful for on a daily basis. If you connect to the world via sound, say them out loud. For an emotional connection, concentrate on the feeling that something gives you.
Does this mean you should only use one way? Nope! Utilize as many different senses as you can to appreciate the world around you.
Now, what do you get for all your hard work?
Heard of the law of attraction? Gratitude keeps you focused on what you love and that focus attracts more to you!
By noticing the things you’re grateful for, you may find you’re thanking the people that make those things happen. Genuine communication leads to more fulfilling relationships.
A new and improved positive outlook on life!
By looking for ways to see the positive we change our outlook and are able to see possibilities not available to us before. It’s like cleaning your glasses and seeing a whole new world.
Go out there and be grateful for those lemons! They can and often will change your life!
