Dear Holly,
It's been far too long since we've spoken. I miss you. Sometimes when life tosses you lemons, you get bogged down in the catching, storing, and hauling them around. When a move that you'd been waiting for came, you jumped head first and lost yourself in the details. Focusing on getting everything out of one house, into another, leaving a job, finding a new one, learning a new city, making new friends. It's all so exciting, and draining, and life.
Then came more news. Go back, they said. You weren't done. It was time to learn and grow and come out of the weeds. And you did. Just enough.
Just enough to push yourself to try something new. Something that would make you reach out to others, put yourself out there in a different way.
Just enough to swallow your pride and go back to a job you hated. One that forced you to look at what you're worth and what brings you joy. Forced you to look for that joy, no matter what was going on around you.
Just enough to open your eyes and enjoy 6 months in a place you never wanted to go back to.
But not enough to keep your joy when you moved again, when you changed jobs again, and now 6 months later , you're stuck again. It's time to pull out your cards, your books, your tools. Time to find the cords and disconnect them. To go back to center. Find the joy within and recognize what sparks it from the outside. Push your love out to the world. Heal.
I'll be right here waiting with a chai latte and a cupcake. I know you can do it.
