So how can you change your beliefs so they quit sucking the awesomeness out of your life?
One of the easiest ways is to retrain your brain by having an attitude of gratitude. Monitor what you think and say, then change it to a positive.
A belief that trips me up a lot is thinking how my husband never helps around the house. Is this true? No! I have just trained myself not to see what he does.
I set myself up for success in the morning by saying thank you for my husband is helpful around the house. As the day passes, I try to notice what he IS doing (not what he HASN’T done, or what I WISH he was doing) and say thank you again. At the end of the day you can go through all the things that you saw that you were thankful for.
Have you heard of the concept Seeing Red Cars?
“ Say you buy a red car and drive it off the lot, what do you notice? More red cars. You notice more red cars because that is what you are focused on. So if you have awareness of what you are focusing on, you get more of it. It’s about the mindset.” 1
This is the same deal. What you focus on is what you see in your life! So start focusing on the good, not what you want, what you lack or what you fear.
Other tools for changing your mindset:
My favorite is EFT. If you’ve never heard of these tools, please do a little googling, they will change your life! If you have, what’s your favorite?
